C1-2 fractures, Left vertebral artery dissection and extrinsic compression

Findings:

Cervical spine CT images and VRT reformat CTA demonstrate fractures of C1 and C2 with displacement of C1. Displaced fragments of C1 compress the left vertebral artery with severe narrowing and luminal irregularity due to dissection. Axial source images further define the morphology of compression and dissection of the left vertebral artery. Curved MPR and MIP images also demonstrate the compressive point just below foramen magnum and sharp fracture fragments impinging on the vessel.
