Carotid Terminus Vascular Malformation

Findings:

CTA images demonstrate irregular dilatation of the left carotid terminus. The finding does not demonstrate solid nodular vascular enhancement but appears to represent a fine network of tortuous thin vessels surrounding the expected carotid terminus.

MR images demonstrate remote border zone infarcts in the left centrum semiovale.

The MRA source images again demonstrate the fine network of vessels at the left carotid terminus. Of note, no draining vessels are seen in the region.
