Carotid Terminus Aneurysm with partial thrombosis
Findings:
Multiple CTA images confirm a large irregular outpouching of contrast enhancement from the right carotid terminus which has a triangular morphology. The overall size of the aneurysm is underestimated by the zone of enhancement. A rind of low density thrombus surrounds the patent portion. Faint linear hyperdensity and a tiny focus of calcification delineates the true wall of the aneurysm. There is localized mass effect and surrounding edema.
