Heroin toxicity, anoxic injury, acute hydrocephalus with IVH

Findings:

Diffusion weighted imaging demonstrates symmetric bilateral acute infarction involving the bilateral hippocampus, globus pallidus, and cerebellar white matter.

An additional set of diffusion weighted imaging demonstrates progressive infarction of the cerebellar hemispheres and new or progressive infarcts in the basal ganglia, internal capsules, and centrum semiovale. There is evolving posterior fossa mass effect with acute obstructive hydrocephalus, associated with intraventricular hemorrhage and transependymal CSF flow.
