Metastatic Cholangiocarcinoma
Findings:
Multiple MRI images demonstrate enhancing expansile masses involving posterior elements of the mid to lower thoracic spine. These masses encroach on the epidural space with mild mass effect on the spinal cord. A thin thoracic cord syrinx is present with degenerative disc disease including mild disc protrusion causing mass effect on the ventral spinal cord at the upper edge of the metastatic lesion involvement. A superimposed benign venous malformation is present at a mid to lower thoracic level which demonstrates different signal characteristics than the posterior element masses. The enhancing masses infiltrate adjacent soft tissues and demonstrate central zones of relative heterogeneous decreased T2 signal.
