Squamous Cell Carcinoma, Oropharynx with Bilateral Nodal Metastases

Findings:

Multiple neck CT images demonstrate a very large infiltrative enhancing mass involving the oropharynx, occluding the oropharyngeal airway with a tracheostomy in place. Bilateral centrally necrotic nodal metastases are present involving levels 2 and 3. The mass infiltrates the intrinsic and extrinsic tongue musculature, involves both palatine tonsils, and extends into the supraglottic region. Zones of low attenuation within the mass are due to necrosis and potential ulceration.
