Disc ExtrusionDisc Extrusion

Large progressive disc extrusion L4-5

Findings:

The baseline MRI images demonstrate a large posterior disc extrusion at the L4-5 level, associate with disc space narrowing and discogenic fatty endplate conversion with minimal marrow edema signal. The epidural space is widened by the disc extrusion. The disc extrusion causes moderate asymmetric right thecal sac compression.

Seven days later with progressive symptomatology, there is progressive enlargement of the disc extrusion which now extends more superiorly in the epidural space and causes marked thecal sac compression to a nearly imperceptible dimension.
