Basilar Artery Aneurysm with Fenestration
Findings:
MRA and DSA show aneurysmal dilatation of the mid to
distal basilar artery. Just above the aneurysm, the artery is divided into
two channels.
Discussion:
Fenestration is a rare congenital vascular anomaly in
which the artery is divided into two channels. The abnormal turbulence
caused by these lesions predisposes to aneurysm formation.
