Langerhans Cell Histiocytosis (Eosinophilic Granuloma)
FINDINGS:
CECT shows a well defined enhancing mass in the superolateral
right orbit, associated with erosion of the orbital roof and superolateral
orbital rim. Configuration of the skull is consistent with that of a young
child.
DISCUSSION:
In this age group and location, lymphoma and hemangioma
should also be considered although the presence of bone destruction would
be unusual. Primary lacrimal gland tumors such as mixed tumors, adenoid
cystic, and mucoepidermoid would be unusual in a child.
