CWD mastoidectomy with stapes prosthesis extrusion

Findings:

Temporal bone CT demonstrates postoperative findings of canal wall down right mastoidectomy. The stapes prosthesis is displaced into the sinus tympani.

Discussion:

A stapes prosthesis should have its tip centered in the oval window on all projections, and should not penetrate into the vestibule. Opacification of the mastoid bowl is nonspecific and can often be inspected clinically.
