Metastatic Choriocarcinoma
Findings:
Multiple MR images demonstrate irregular hemorrhagic lesions within the right cerebellum and right temporal lobe, with surrounding mass effect and vasogenic edema causing mild effacement of the fourth ventricle.
Discussion:
nChoriocarcinoma
n50% occur with molar pregnancy
nRest occur with normal pregnancy, miscarriage, ectopic, or primary genital tumor
nMarked bHCG elevation
nAggressive cancer, Rx w chemo
nPrimary intracranial germ cell tumors in peds
nGerminoma, mixed germ cell, yolk sac tumor, choriocarcinoma, teratoma
nHemorrhagic mets
nMR CT BB
