Aberrant Right Vertebral from Arch

Findings:

CTA images demonstrate a thin arterial structure arising from the posterior medial margin of the aortic arch and coursing behind the trachea and esophagus, following the expected course of the right vertebral artery.

Differential Diagnosis/Discussion:

Anatomically, no other possibility than a congenital variant. The expected vessels should be sought by anatomic position, and anatomic variants are likely when there is deviation from expected normal position.
