Discitis Osteomyelitis with Epidural Phlegmon

Findings:

There is abnormal T1/T2 marrow signal involving the L5, S1 and S2 vertebral bodies with associated endplate irregularities particularly at S1. There is also abnormal signal at the L5-S1 intervertebral disc space. There is enhancing left posterolateral epidural collection extending from L4-S2 with associated spinal canal compromise. Two percutaneous drainage catheters project over abscesses in the bilateral paraspinal musculature and bilateral iliopsoas muscles.
